    Engine power reduce

Hello everyone. My 2006 dts performance is telling me engine power reduce. I would like to know the possible reasons why the car would display this message??? Thank you all.

    Re: Engine power reduce

Is the message on all the time, or only when attempting rapid acceleration ??

These cars have a Torque Limiter sensing function, and if the PCM detects excessive power application it will reduce engine power and set messages.

You might drive over to a local large parts chain store and ask them to perform a diagnostic scan - it uses the OBD/CAN port under the dash, next to the steering column. Use this to fully decipher any codes found. http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm

For the cars past 2005-2006 (no built-in code scanner), the ScanGauge-II incorporates a real-time scanner as well as allowing you to monitor any 4 of 12 engine functions in real time. www.scangauge.com

Thank you. This message occurs all the time. I just start the car up and it displays the message.

Something's fishy - have the system scanned.
