    Hard Shifts Between gears!!!!

    All,

I have an occasional hard shift sometimes between gears. I read online that it could be my shift control solenoid going bad. I already had my transmission fluid drained and replaced with new filter and gasket at 88k. I now have 92k on my car.

Anybody had their shift control solenoid replaced?

    Thanks,

    Re: Hard Shifts Between gears!!!!

Have the hard shifts been on cold days before transmission is 'up to temperature'??
Only 4 thousand miles on new fluid and this never happened previously?
    No codes?
Some shops will run a Free diagnostic on trans. and check pressures, etc.
Hopefully there are some guys on here that have been thru this before.
Service Manual is in my broken computer that is out . . getting fixed for two months now. -->

I haven't had this trouble with my 2006 DTS, but I have had it with other GM's .
The last was my Grand Daughter's, 1999 Chev Lumina, with 44 K miles, 2 months ago.
This fix is worth a try, I feel it's one of those " can't hurts" .
I use one bottle of "Lucas Transmission Fix", with clean fluid. Yours should be clean enough.
Get a MityVac, any auto supply, suck out old trans fluid in the amount of the "Lucas Transmission Fix"
bottles content, 12 oz, I think . Put in full bottle . Will need to run for a couple hundred miles, to get
a good fluid mix. Lucas Transmission Fix, has a good reputation, in the industry.

My o6 dts shifted hard it when cold or under load it ended up being the trans mount take your lf wheel off and u can visually inspect it. The mounts on these cars are filled with fluid to offset torque and reduce noise so look for signs of a fluid leak near the mount

I hope they didn't flush you're tranny, drain ok , flushing system not a good idea. I thought filter was inside unable to simply replace without dropping tranny? you can drain pan and screens but I thought filter was a different story.

There are two filters for the tranny. One inside the pan and another one inside the crankshaft??? That you would have to drop the training to get to. The more I think about it, it might just be a transmission mount.
