    Re: Seat Cushion Shield

In my opinion, the cause for the plastic shield cracking/breaking off is as a result of (PROBABLY) the previous driver being a little over weight. But the root cause of the problem is due to a poor design of the flimsy plastic shield by GM.

Does anyone know about the details of a Service Bulletin on this issue?

*I* am overweight and I am noticing since reading this thread that as I enter and exit the car I do put weight on the plastic shield. i don't think the overweight part has anything to do with it but it might exacerbate it. i suspect that people that use the easy exit feature to put the seat back and down will have less problems with this.

I have the exact same issue. I just bought a new panel I would love some advice on removing the old one / installing the new one.

I just broke the old one off...Pain in the Arse, but cheap and easy fix.

Do you pull off the control handles/buttons? Is it screwed on or it it just pull out clips?

    Thanks
