    Memory Seats -- Exit Button

My car has the memory seats that has the "Exit" button, as well. I have it set within my personal settings that when I turn off the car and take out the key, that my seat and steering wheel go to the "Exit" position. The problem my car is experiencing is that when the seat/wheel go to the "Exit" position, that the steering wheel is not going all the way up or all the way back (away from the driver).

When I take out the key, the seat moves all the way back...no problem. The steering wheel goes up some...but not all the way. If I wait until it finishes moving and push the "Exit" button once, the steering wheel moves the rest of the way up...and if I press the "Exit" button a second time, the wheel moves the rest of the way back. By this point, the wheel is all the way up/back, so a third press of the button does nothing.

I've looked in the owner manual and I know that I can change which features move (seats, and/or wheel telescopic setting and/or tilt wheel setting)... and when they are to move (not at all, upon press of the button or upon removal of the key). But, it appears that you cannot personalize the "Exit" setting to have the seat/wheel tilt and wheel telescopic settings adjusted to your preference. For my height, I'd prefer the wheel to be all the way up and all the way back.

My questions here are...is this feature not supposed to move the wheel all the way up/back? ... or is my car having a bit of a malfunction?

    TIA

    TopherS...
Your seat is moving just like mine does when I use the exit button ... I don't like it either...

Since I am the only one who drives my car, I set the memory position 1 to what I want it to be when I am driving and memory position 2 to be my exit button...

Re: Memory Seats -- Exit Button

    Cheers for the quick reply...

The setting for the "exit" button must be the way it was designed (for some reason or another).

My wife will drive this car and we have #2 to be her setting. The previous car I had (1987 Cadillac Brougham) was too big, so my wife refused to even consider driving it. The memory seat option in that one did not have an "exit" button, so I did the same as you...set #2 to be my "exit" button.

Re: Memory Seats -- Exit Button

My DTS does the same thing (2008) - I'm not crazy about that "feature" either - in the 05 and prior Devilles and 04 and prior Sevilles, you could "Set" the EXIT button the way you liked for the seat and steering wheel, but not on these DTS's (cost savings, I presume). I'm also not crazy about the fact that the "key in" recall for your memory settings was eliminated, so your only 2 options are have the seat/steering wheel recalled when you hit UNLOCK on your transmitter (which is counterproductive to me, since you're not in the DTS yet) OR if you disable that option you have to press 1 or 2 when you get in and are ready for the seat/wheel to move.

    Hello TopherS,

I did some research about this and I do apologize that I do not see a way to customize the exit feature on the DTS. I will definitely document this and pass it along as some feedback about the memory seat exit feature. Thank you very much for your feedback! Please feel free to message us if you have any other questions or concerns.
