Hi all. New to these forums after a keyword search and after seeing the '06 DTS highlighted on a TV program in the Chicago area advertising this weeks auto show. FWIW, I own a 2002 DTS and am quite impressed with this subtle Deville re-design. I'm a big fan of where Cadillac seems to be going with their designs and stylings from the DTS, to the Escalade, to the XLR. Keep up the good work at Cadillac and on this board.

Welcome aboard!! You'll love it here, lots of helpful people, etc. My Dad has an 'o3 DTS and they are great cars!

At first a lot of us were shocked at the changes when we saw them on Bush's limo, but I think that's changing now and people are adjusting to the changes positively.

As I see the buttons went to the steering wheel. Agree, the wood trim is great. It reminds me the interior of the new Jaguar XJ. But I guess it's not more than a facelift (both interior and exterior).

What's NOT to like about this car?

Personally this looks like the traditional platform and the 'Art & Science' themes met halfway. Its not as soft and...what's the word here...'bulbous' as the traditional DTS and not as sharp, and cold as the Sigma STS.

I honestly quite like it...the rear's thin vertical taillights appeal to me, the 94-99 body style lover, and yet the sharp, crisp front adds that new, euro flare found on imports!

If 2dfx or his immediate family had the cash, they'd get that model. Ugh, but they wanna replace my baby with one from the 2000-present body style. Yuck.

I don't like the radical look of what now seems to be all the Cadillac models. Who told the design team the "Mad Waring Blender Look Is In?" That's what the front of all these Caddys look like to me, kitchen appliances!

Looks much better than I initially thought (looking at W's armoured limo pics)
I'm still gonna wait for the RWD models, but this ones not too bad.
    Interior looks great.

Re: 2006 Deville Article and Pics

It's really not a problem for Cadillac to have one FWD vehicle. Why abandon ALL the people up North who want a Cadillac that handles well in the snow? The ULS, Ultra Luxury Sedan, or whatever they end-up calling it, will be the RWD luxury car that goes up against the Lexus LS, BMW 7-Series and Mercedes S-Class.. There's nothing wrong with keeping the DeVille, primarily owned by older people who don't care about performance, or they'd buy a Vette, front wheel drive...
