replacing the HID head light on your own

I recently bought an 08' DTS. I have no complaints about it at all. How ever, the HID went out. Id like to know how easy it is to replace it yourself, or should I just take it t the shop. I also did some further research and found that the balast can affect the HID also. Any info that u guys would be helpful.

There are several detailed links in the DTS forum that advise how to do this, do a search.
