    Upper Spring Insulator

I had my strut mounts changed out again after the Monroe strut mate mount kit part number was pulled for our model. Now I am almost certain that the upper spring insulator/washer (or whatever it is called) is not longer on the current setup. A steering issue emerged in which my steering wheel is sloppy and there is poor returnability (especially when turning left). Mechanics are saying nothing is broken and everything is in order. I know the insulator's role is to reduce noise but I've read that it also allows the spring to sit squarely on the bearing. Can the insulator affect the steering since it sits between the coil and the bearing?

    No.

Check that the new mounts were tightened securely.
