Re: random stalling issue 2006 DTS

i am going to update this, i have switched dealerships and received much better service. the new dealer found a i had a bad oxygen sensor and replaced that, car has not stalled since! i also cleaned the throttle body again very well.
I am still having issues with a misfire under load at low speeds with the AC on. i found the code P0358 ignition coil H primary/secondary circuit. it only seems to misfire if i am in drive at a stop light with the ac on it will how ever do it with the ac off just much less often. I need to know what it the number 8 cylinder on the northstar engine so i can run a few more tests. any help is much appreciated

Ah! Thanks for the update, Phatalac. I'm happy that your stalling concerns appear to be resolved! I would recommend consulting your new dealership for coding information, or I would be happy to consult my internal resources on your behalf (just send me a PM with the last eight of your VIN for me to research further).

hey all, i think im having a similar issue with my 06 dts. perf. misfires at idle, p0300 stored, acts like it will stall. traction control light will then come on with stabilitrac message, then firm shifts. acts the worst at idle and just above, runs ok after that. new plugs, 2 new coils, new maf, new map sensor. still does it. hoping it is a pcm software issue that can be updated, maybe new pcm. ive been a mechanic for 20+years and it has me stumped.

Re: random stalling issue 2006 DTS

My 2006 DTS has stalled on me twice this week. Previously I noticed at idle a few times that the idle speed would dip and then recover. Everything I am seeing online says the crankshaft sensor is most likely the issue. I had it checked out with a scan tool 2 days ago and everything was good-no codes, no engine light, crank sensor sawtooth pattern was very good- however this looks like an intermittent issue. I mostly am concerned with getting stranded. Does anyone know if that is likely? PS I am also speed limited to 80mph. Is that a seperate issue?
