Just purchased it. Thank you. I remember reading up above about sending the wire diagram if needed. If that is still an option I would love to get that as my eyes aren't as good as they used to be and the diagram in the thread is too small. Let me know and thanks for this write up it is awesome.

Don, sorry but I no longer have that diagram on my computer. The diagrams were pulled from Alldata. If anybody here has access to that app, maybe they could post a high res capture of the diagram?

Ive used garmins/tomtoms/smartphone nav(s)/etc. The only way the factory nav could "function" better for me is if I could enter an address the same way I do in my iPhone. Now THAT would be a huge improvement. Otherwise im not sure how it can be improved by any large margin. And I can watch dvd's on my lunch break. Take that garmin
Hey phigment, I am sure that you are loving your navigation system. So, how long did it take to get the navigation system installed in your Caddy? What was the total cost?
    Thanks

Total time, start to finish, was about 3 hours. I wired for the microphone and speaker connections as well. Total cost was around $400.00 if I remember correctly. I got a REALLY good price off of ebay. The harness and aftermarket GPS antenna. I have a friend who is a GM tech. He programmed it for me so that did save me some $$. I do not regret doing it. I would do it again. The hardest part was getting those screws that are under the defrost vent. Tight space to work with a 1/4" ratchet.

The only thing I dont like about going aftermarket is the dash kit available for our cars(the trim piece that fits around the aftermarket radio). It doesn't match the OEM trim. Its somewhat close I guess, but still noticeable.

Looks good Tony. Im guessing you fabricated that yourself right? I had a 2000 DTS a couple years ago and looked everywhere for an aftermarket dash kit, found a single din but no doubles. I ended up making one myself out of plexiglass and some paint. Looked good, but not nearly as nice as yours.

@phigment - thank you for the detailed instructions on upgrading to a factory nav. The wiring info for the microphone was just what I needed!

I can add voice tags for destinations and use the voice commands. Thanks again,
