Talking Dropped off my 06' DTS for warranty repair, 3 months left of warranty

    1. oil pressure switch leak
    2. oil filter housing gasket
    3. valve cover gasket leak
    4. steering rack right side
    5. front right head light flickers and shuts off at times
    6. front right side tiny light blown
    7. third brake light partially blown (l.e.d.'s)
    8. rear right tire sensor need's to be serviced inaccurate readings 94-06 psi

Service man told me all was covered under my per owned certified luxury warranty ,but needs to be re
evaluated to check for problems , i also told him it was leaking oil and he said is it hitting the ground ?

i said its all over the bottom of the car chassis .

I will post hopefully in a few days what was repaired .

Also i was provided a 2011 DTS as a loaner, it sure rides smooth

Actually mine was a VERY SLIGHT kind of a CLICK when I was sitting still and moved the wheel back and forth.
It was barely noticeable, but it was there and I could reproduce it for the service writer...
That was when they replaced the entire rack.
Took it back a few days ago, for a slight "RUBBING" feel in the steering wheel, when I turned the wheel if I was going really slow... like backing out of the driveway.
They replaced the intermediate steering shaft, bushing and all associated parts.
Now the steering feels like a BRAND NEW CAR again...

Thumbs up Re: Picked up my 06' DTS from warranty repairs.

I received my car back today everything was fixed except the oil filter gasket , and the flickering headlight .

They fixed all leaks and my third center brake light, peanut light bulb in the front, rear tire sensor and new rack and pinion .

I still need to change the oil filter gasket when i change the oil and get that flickering headlight addressed i have pictures when my front right headlight shuts off.

Any thought as to why my right headlight shuts off and flickers ?

If any of you have had the same problem, what was the solution ?

    REVELATION13,

I am glad to see most of your issues have been fixed. Did your dealership not change those two items because they were not covered under warranty?

    Thank you,

I think they did fix the oil filter gasket, now that I read the printout I was thinking they didn't because you would have to remove the oil filter to do that, unless they just removed the oil filter without changing the oil and slapped on the new gasket.

I have pictures I took with my phone when the light turned off leaving only the left side illuminated, I showed it to the service man, he reported the complaint, the tech checked for faulty wiring and could not reproduce the problem .

Shouldn't my picture be proof enough?

I am going to wait until i catch it flickering again or it shuts of to take it for repair.

    REVELATION13,

Have you spoken with your dealership to confirm if they did fix the gasket? If not, I encourage you to do so. If they did then you would need to let them know that there is still an issue and that they need to fix it. I can’t determine why the picture wasn’t good enough for the technician. If it happens again maybe try to take a video and show them. Hopefully the issue will happen while it is in their hands so they can fix it.

    Thank you,

    Elizabeth, Cadillac Customer Service

I have found that once a problem is documented with a dealer, they will address it when it later becomes apparent to them.

I was driving my DTS and felt a bind/rub/catch in my steering even after the rack and pinion replacement when making right turns also my light is flickering again and it shut off saturday night ,BUT ! it is the left driver side now instead of my last complaint of the passenger side .

I am thinking they switched my ballast to the driver side to test the ballast , When i dropped off the car today the service write up man, said yes thats how they test the ballast from the light ,but the other service man said they wouldn't do that Hmmmmm !

Well anyways i should get it back tomorrow hopefully fixed, i will post what happened.

Also going to find out the prices on extended warranty.

My courtesy vehicle is a 2011 SRX pretty cool car/suv.
