How to jump start a 2008 DTS!

My mother in law didn't use her car for a few weeks and it was very cold in NY so she tried to start it and the battery was totally drained . I would like to jump start the car but I can't find the owner's manual to see how is done. Also, I would like to know where the battery is and how to remove it in the event she needs a new one. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Re: How to jump start a 2008 DTS!

You have t get the hood up.
You need to press the FOB from the sides and pullout the emergency key if the door is locked.
To jump start it there is a big Positive Terminal under the hood. It is under the big red cap. Ground the other lead near the power steering pully. Itis marked GND.
The battery is under the rear seat. A real stinker to get to.
You have to push the bottom front of the rear seat toward the rear real HARD while lifting the Front of the rear seat cushion.

^^ All good advice except the key fob- no DTS has a key hidden in the fob.
Rest in Peace, J.D. (aka Dirt_Cheap_Fleetwood)

Re: How to jump start a 2008 DTS!

Just to keep the water clear, there are several good grounding points for a jump start near the power steering pump on my 2007 DTS, but there is not one that is marked GND...

Maybe that's a nice feature of the 2008.
