The 2000-2005 Deville DTS has the floor shifter.

The DTS was the top of the line Deville for 2000-2005. Deville Base, Deville DHS, and Deville DTS were your basic choices.

All Cadillac Deville DTS's had a console shifter.

DTS performance levels also have a console shifter. The DTS Perf Level is a much different car than the other models.

    Re: DTS 2006 vs 2005

a quick way to tell before even looking into the car is to look at the car itself

if the bottom of the car is grey and plasticky, then its not a DTS:

if the bottom of the car is painted like the rest of the car its a dts (dont know if dhs came with the bottom painted or not):

also look for foglights on the front bumper, the blade wheels, and especially the "hole in the grille" which is actually nightvision
    Gomaz and vettemech like this.

The 2000-2005 DeVilles and DTS also had the seat-mounted front seatbelts, which are deal-breakers for me, because they cut into my collarbone (I'm tall and skinny). In 2006, they moved them back to the B pillar.

Punctuation and capitalization were invented for a reason. A courtesy to your readers.

    Re: DTS 2006 vs 2005

As far as Im concerned, the 2000-05 DTS in Tuxedo BLACK with the chrome rims was the best looking of ALL the generations.

The 06 has more toys and Xenon lights which I like, but well it looks more... the "part" of a Deville if you know what I mean.

The DTS was just a bad-ass looking car.

Speaking about punctuation, your third grade teacher would probably advise you to put a period after collarbone.

(You are talking to the self-declared eng/punc/spelling expert, although age is taking its toll.

DHS would be a much smoother ride than a DTS. I suspect you could put a chip in the DHS if you wanted the extra horsepower.

    Wait, what?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I didn't know DHS owners had that extra power available to them. How would a chip be used to etract the extra horsepower?

No Northstar chip/programming tuner available to the best of my knowledge.

At least not for my two Northstars......
