If I had a product on the market and it had a user forum like this I would be reading the SOB every day and learning how my product was doing, what people like and what they dislike. I would learn from it, I would make product improvements because of it and I would look for repeat issues such as this knocking sound. If someone who gave a rats ass read this thing they would realize that several people are experiencing this stupid knocking sound issue. If I had an entry level former East German car I would want that knocking sound fixed.
If anyone from GM looks at things here I would be delighted if they would call or e-mail me.
Otherwise, I will take this thing to the dealer until I hit the magic lemon law numbers then I will win the case, get my money back and go away.
Not to mention the improved panel fit I am I sure. You really did get a lemon with your SRX. Mine, on the otherhand, has been very good. Ironically, the best one yet has been my wife's 2001 SLS. We still love that car after all these years.

As a result, Im sure they dont appreciate being called East Germans, Former East Germans, Nazi's or anything else other than just Germans.

With all the "jim cracks" and electronic wizardry now their is clearly a lot to go wrong on a new Caddy. It is also apparent that this knocking sound is somewhat endemic to the 06 DTS. Mine certainly does it. In fact, does ANYONE have one that DOESN"T do it?" I have resolved myself to the fact that I like the car and even if I got a different DTS it would probably do the same thing. It's like the old sports car I used to drive when I was, ahem...MUCH younger... my mechanic told me that until it breaks, there is often little way to solve the problem if you can't reliably reproduce the problem for diagnosis.
