This morning, while on my usual Sunday crack of dawn Starbucks / luxo-car dealership grand tour, I spotted a fresh-off-the-truck '06 DTS, ice-blue metallic with a neutral interior, and I have to say it looked sharp.
Despite claims about extremely tight tolerances for seams and cut lines, I did notice a little uneven panel fit, especially around the hood and the tops of the doors, and around the center portion of the dash - hopefully not typical of later examples. I also noticed a chrome border around the nav screen, which I believe was not shown in those early official photographs.
The grill is VERY big and aggressive, and looks great, and I'm happy to say the controversial rear end looks vastly better and more impressive in life than in photographs, especially the much-maligned taillights.
All in all, it's a handsome and substantial looking package, and should do at least as well as the previous DeVille.
