Yes, it is. I believe GM calls it the "G" platform. The old Seville, the LeSabre, the Park Avenue, and both generations of the Aurora were all G platform. As you can see from the interior shots of the Lucerne, the console, shifter, and steering wheel are all identical to the new DTS. And all but the outer cover of the instrument panel is probably the same.

I'm I the only one that sees the VW Phaeton in the Lucernes' rear end? And the roof line is yelling Infinit G35 to me.

Also, GM has been putting the front-drive version of the Northstar in versions of the Bonneville too.

Agreed to the Phaeton comment...didn't notice the G35 at first, though.

Sorry...this is getting off the DTS topic...

The front looks like a widened STS/CTS/SRX, and the rear looks like a Chevy Monte Carlo. The interior looks similar to the Buick but better IMO. What a shame, the DTS was the one Cadillac that had a nice interior.

Re: 2006 D T S Images

The 2006 DTS exterior looks a bit like a supersized Chevy Monte Carlo, with elements from the Opel (!!! !!!) Vectra. To make it short - the exterior is really, really ugly and not Cadillac like at all.

The interior design on the other hand is great.

Dear Cadillac folks - you've lost the battle in Europe already before it started.
But as we know you, you're not going to dare to pollute the European car market with your ugly pseudo-luxo DTS anyway.

You could top this only by putting a Cadillac batch on a Hummer H1.

By the way: In regards of exterior design - why don't you ask Lincoln to give you a training session on style and elegance?

A really disappointed Cadillac fan from Europe.

Re: 2006 D T S Images

What will Cadillac call their models replacing the base Deville and DHS? Guess they will keep more than one level of style as before when the DTS was the upgraded sport model, and DHS the upgraded luxury model.
Anybody know?

Re: 2006 D T S Images

Like the STS, the DTS is going to have several different models. But they'll all be called DTS. Somebody correct if me I'm wrong...
