New DTS Color: Ocean Pearl Tricoat

Does anybody know what the new color for a DTS, listed on the "Build Your Own" site at Cadillac.com that is called "Ocean Pearl Tricoat" looks like? If anyone has a picture of it, please post! Thanks!

Interesting...I didn't know theh had come out with a new color.

The name sounds interesting...I would guess it to be some shade of blue of blue green, and with the pearl tricoat...it may be a real pretty color.

I've been trying to see a sample of this colour since it was announced last month. From what little that I have seen it would seem to be a cross between White Diamond and Cognac Frost. It is a light, almost white, colour.

The on-line ordering guide makes it look close to Gold Mist.

There are a couple of other sources. I'm thinking of ordering a touch-up paint bottle to see what the colour looks like.

I will do some more research and post again later.

Probably the best idea.....
I have Gold Mist.
It's about as Gold as my Hiney.......
It SURE isn't as Gold as the GM color chart.

It's a bit disappointing if it is another shade like Gold Mist--although it may still be quite elegant--I was also hoping it might be some shade of blue-green metallic. I'll keep checking local dealers for a clue . . .

The two other sources that I've seen would validate this sample as being in the same tone.

About two weeks ago I spoke with my dealer principle about this colour. He had no information whatsoever on it. It would seem as though GM has halted a lot of minor things like this in order to focus more clearly on survival.

As well, I just checked autotrader and they had no listing for a DTS in Ocean Pearl, so it's possible that none have yet to be produced.

To me.....if it hadn't been named yet......I would have called it Gold Mist.

I think Cadillac is color blind.

My CTS was called Radiant Bronze.

Nobody, in any light, saw any Bronze in it.

Take a look at the picture of the 1956 Cadillacs...the color choices were fabulous! The cars were offered with vivid real colors. Look at todays cars...they look like the colors were picked by Bill Gates on a computer....dulll!

My Grandfather bought a new Deville every two years from 1955 through the late 80's. Each car was a different color and some of them were fabulous! Two tone interiors as well! I still remember his 57 with a light green lower half, dark green roof! Fabulous looking car!

If they offered it my wife would have a DTS right now in that pastel color that the convertable has in the front of the picture with a light interior!

I have owned 8 Devilles or DTS's since 1988. The two DTS's we have now are the best Cadillacs ever...style---engineering...fabulous!

So Cadillac...how about bringing out some color choices that make us want to drool over them on the lot? How about a real Red interior again like I had in my 1991? How about a bright red exterior offering? All this tricoat metallic stuff is nice, but how about a real Gold metallic like I have on my Prowler! How about a two tone with the roof painted a contrasting color? Make the colors as exciting as the cars and they will sell!

Bob S--I wholeheartedly agree! All Cadillac needs to do is to go to their archives and resurrect modern variants of their fabulous past colors! I know they are offering fewer colors (gone are the days of the '60's and '70's with 21 annual color choices), but they should have two or three of the choices unique to Cadillacs, special in the way their past colors were!

I am currently in Dallas having driven down in my 08 Cotillion White DTS on Friday. I saw a number of DTS's on the road including a Cotillion on I-81! Played tag with him (NJ tags) for about an hour or so near Blacksburg VA

They do not stand out for color, but I can tell you that they do stand out on looks and people seemed to move over when I came up...

My wife and I chatted about it on the drive down and she agreed that some new colors would change the car.. for example, how about a Baby Blue, a Pale Yellow or a nice light green!..She told me that they need to dump some of the metallic colors and go to some solids! She also reminded me that my 91 was two tone as the bottom was silver...it was sharp!
