floor mat pegs

does anyone know how to remove those pegs on the drivers side carpet that hold the mats in place? I don't want to force it and break them.

Nice timing with your post.I just removed mine this morning.Here's a picture of one of the clips in the open position.What you need to do is release the little lock mechanism with a screwdriver blade.

Now that you can see the picture you will know where to put the blade to pop it open and pull it out.
