Would you be willing to post a photo that gives us a view of more of the profile of the car (side view) so we can see how it impacts the overall appearance? The pinstripes themselves look nice in the photo. And it is not like the sides of the DTS are very "busy" to start with. As much as I already like the appearance of the 2006+ DTS, the contours, except for the fender flares, are fairly spartan in my humble opinion, as they were with the 2000-2005s. |

I particularly like that upper crease line in the body and unfortunately, it is so subtle it is pretty much lost. When I was shopping around for my DTS, I found myself attracted to all the Vogue canvas-topped cars because the body line looked better. Realized that was because they all had the pinstripping and THAT was what brought out that crease line. Hmmm...wonder what color combo I'd use with dark cherry..... |

I drive an '06 Radiant Bronze with Shale interior.I have looked EVERYWHERE for anything other than white, black or silver pinstripes. I would like to find a light beige/tan color that will adequately contrast with the Bronze color but not too much, (and will match the shale interior, hopefully)
I have looked high and low . I can pinstripe it myself and have done it multiple times successfully in the past with other sedans but I can't find the color I want without buying a ton of pinstripe on-line.
Any sources? |

I don't know where you are located... but try calling around to detail shops and window tint places.
I have light gold / tan stripes on my 2006 White Lightning DTS. They pretty much match the Cashmere interior.
The guy that installed the 3-M Clear Bra also put the stripes on.

Especially if they are really stick on tape or decals. But I must say that those stripes on Rapid Roger's car look elegant in the photos. |

He used pinstriping brushes with very long bristles. The pinstripes were created with one stroke of the brush from front to rear. There are still some of the masters who do it the same way as the oldtimers like my dad.

If you could not see pin stripes, would you like them or dislike them? Kind of like tree falling in forest. |

One long stroke, and it came out perfectly. He was also an excellent painter of motorcycles, cars, and airplanes. RIP. No education, but sharp enough to rebuild Cessnas from scratch. He was a flt instructor in WWII, and he taught me to fly when I was a teenager (in the 60s). He always told me I should not hot rod an airplane until I have 20,000 hrs. I am still working on the last 18,000 hrs. There are old pilots; there are bold pilots; there are no old bold pilots. |

I really like it.
After 52,000 miles there is NOT ONE DING on the hood, headlights or front of the mirrors. You can feel some rough places in the Clear Bra, where rocks and stuff have hit it, but there is not one ding on the actual paint.
Can't say the same thing about the chrome that goes around the grill. It has tiny little pits all over it from road gravel and debris.
The Clear Bra has done a good job. I really debated getting it, but now I am glad I did. I can have it took off when I go to trade the car (if I want to) ... and the paint will be perfect.
Hopefully it will bring a little more on trade in that way and will offset the cost of me having it put on the car, plus the car looks a lot better without a bunch of rock chips in the paint.
At the center of the hood...it extends up about a foot. I also have it on the bumper, the front painted part of the outside mirrors and some EXTRA HEAVY film on the headlights.
I also had him custom cut a piece to fit all the way across the TOP of the rear bumper, so that the bumper doesn't get scratched from putting stuff IN and taking stuff OUT of the trunk.

mop n glo', chrome, pinstripe ADM package.....................
This car was a GM employee PEP car delivered thru this dealer to me.
The pinstripes look just like Rogers and really don't look bad on a Diamond white/tan guts
car. The stick on chrome covering the black door edges along with the wheel opening
mouldings don't look bad either but I am afraid of what they will look like after a few NY
winter and salt treatments!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyhoo I guess I am lucky it didn't have a phoney rag top on it amd would of walked if it did!
But the $1995. pimp pkg. ended up being NO CHARGE after a bit of wrangling anyhoo.
And son of a gun wasn't I down there getting my plates transfered a few weeks later and
my old beautiful Crimson Pearl Deville was on the front line with the Fla. pimp pkg. installed
on it also!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
