End of the week, I will attempt to place an order. My salesman tells me that the "Platinum" Edition takes presidence over the Performance Package and with THAT combination, I can have the 40/20/40 seating ~
Now, problem is, I really love that "Light Linen" and Dark Cocca duo-tone interior.... but "Cognac" exterior color has been cancelled. The only two paint colors that would look "correct" with that interior are Gold Mist -or- Double Expresso. Otherwise you are introducing 3 colors onto one car.
I really like that new blue - Diamond Blue Mist - Code 98, but in order to get that, you must order a back (Ebony) interior and you lose the beautiful two tone for a monotone black, which does nothing for the Diamond Blue Mist.
So, one is pretty locked into either the Gold Mist or the Double Expresso.
I'll probably go the Gold Mist route.
It's a nice car, but waaay overpriced ! MSRLP on it is $ 58,180.00
First thing i'll hear from the masses, is "WOW - you coulda had a BMW for that !" (or substitute Infiniti, Lexus, Audi, Mercedes, Jaguar) Anything foreign ! I ONLY purchase American Cars, I tell them. In their eyes, I am dead wrong.
I'll let ya know how it all goes.

I highly doubt that GM will manufacture this car with the seating arrangement you prefer. Also CF-5 power sunroof is included with the "Platinum" package and does not need to be ordered seperatly.
Good luck with your purchase.......

Sandy,
It is YOUR money. Buy what YOU want. Who really CARES what someone else says or thinks.
I sure don't. I work hard for my money and will buy what "I" want to.
Besides... I like Cadillacs. I have never wanted a BMW. The only one that even looks HALFWAY decent to ME is the 7 Series and they are WAY over priced... at least for my bank account.

Texas Jim
Well said Jim. I can easily afford to drive a 7 series or an S-Class, but I just prefer my big Cadillac. I get that comment from colleagues all the time--"Why did you buy a Cadillac" or "You could've bought-insert brand X-for the same money," and I just tell them to go drive my car with an open mind.
Back to Sandy--
I don't think you can get the bench seat with the 1SE, but it is available with the 1SD Platinum Package.
I also agree with you about the colors. Most of my Cadillacs have been dark blue, but Blue Chip isn't available with the Platinum Package and I'm not a black interior person, so the new Diamond Blue was out for me. Fortunately my dealer had all the available colors in stock so I settled on the Black Ice exterior with Light Linen interior with Light Linen seats. My build date was last week and the dealer said I should have mine by the end of this week
RJM, you & I are of the same mind, when it comes to cars. I've owned many, but to-date, none foreign. IF I did "go bad" it would be for a Volvo S-80 AWD 311 H.P. V-6 6-Speed Electronic Transmission, super loaded unit in Pearl White, with those killer Ventnor 19" Chrome W-I-D-E spoke Wheels. THAT car is truly drop-dead georgous ! What a Stereo System and what great "toys" on board. But, it's $61,000 all decked out.
Rapid Roger, I knew the Moonroof was incl. I just put it to acknowledge it.
96 Fleetwood .... Yes, I have a buyer for the 2003 Town Car. It has 11,000 on it. ((I drive very very little)) !! I will miss it - it's a terrific car. It actually has MORE toys than the Caddies do, like the keyless entry buttons on the driver's door and all 3 ~ C.D. MP3 and Cassette players !! I also will miss the power close trunk, from the fully opened position. How cool is (was) that?!!
So, yes, "Aubie" will have a new stablemate of the same ethnic & religious background....IF all goes okay.
That Diamond Blue Mist is haunting me. Trouble with Cadillac is that their interior color schemes do not match the paint colors. There is no Blue to go with that blue color, and they killed Cognac to go with the Platinum Linen & Dk. Cocca, and where is white? I'd bite immediately for a black car with white leather & black accents.
My present 1993 Sixty Special with 9,942 miles. Now just does car shows, as it's retired. http://www.smatarese.com/forum/sandy/P6250001.JPG
Me thinks that the Moonroof is NOT included in the package!!
This is bad.

Not that you've ever thought about it. BTW, remember that Volvo is owned by Ford. My son just leased a Mazda6 with my brother-in-law's X plan.
