Re: Looking for feedback on lower grill chrome modification
I find the bottom grill reminds me of the lower portion of my refrigerator...and the least attractive aspect of the DTS front. It's definitely something I wouldn't want to emphasize with chrome....
Re: Looking for feedback on lower grill chrome modification
You want to make sure they are quality stainless (if you really want them). Chrome plated stainless is fine. If the ad does not say stainless - stay away from them. Since it says will never rust, balah blah blah in the ad, I am guessing they are "plastic chrome". While true, it will not rust, I would not put plastic chrome on my vehicle because I will know they are plastic - even if everyone else is fooled. Also, I know you did not ask, but I also agree that they detract from the car's visual appeal.

I have an aftermarket E&G grill on my new DTS,do you mind sharing the source of the part in the picture...?I am interested in a mesh style lower section to compliment the new grill.

My original post has a link to an Ebay auction. That's all I know about it. I have seen chrome stick-on stripping at an auto parts store, but I don't know if this is the same thing. That's why I posted - I was hoping someone here had already tried this and could offer feedback.
Rapid Roger - you and I think alike. I am also thinking of an E&G mesh grill with this. This really isn't a mesh-look grill, though.

I missed the link.I will be in contact with E&G this coming week to see if they offer,or plan to offer a mesh grill for the lower section.Wait till I post the pics of the grill in my new DTS.....I think it really looks sharp and a lower section would top it off perfectly.

I recently spoke with Lee Cleary at E&G about the possibility of manufacturing a mesh lower section to compliment the upper grill. He is going to discuss this with the upper management and I will talk with him again next week concerning E&Gs decision to do or not do this.I will post again when I have more information.
