I am sure it willbe covered under warranty but what happens when the warrant is gone and the lense still cracks?

Andy.....When I responded to this message,all I saw was the very first part of the message,I did not know the CMHSL had already been replaced by your dealer.Andy I makes some good points in his post especally about the possibility of it being fastened too tight or a cushioning gasket is missing.

In any case you should not be having this problem and I have never heard of it happening to anyone else.If it were me I would go back to the dealer and ask for very special attention to be paid to this problem as it is highly unusual.

If you want some ammunition for your talk with the dealer, go to edmunds.com, the cadillac dts forum, and do a search under "brake light". You'll find numerous complaints about cracked high mount brake light lenses. All pertain to the 2006 model so you would think by now a fix would be in place. Maybe at the time you first had it replaced the final fix (if there is one) was not in place.

Vic....Nice detective work.....Although I had never heard of the CHMSL problem,apparently it is widespread.I am looking for a TSB about it right now...I will post if I am able to find anything.
