Exit Seat stop position cannot be adjusted?

With exit seats enabled, it moves the seat back way too far and is actually harder to get out of the car.

Is there no way to specify where I want the exit seat to stop moving back, but still keep using exit seats?? I love the feature, just the seat moves too far back!

I saw that others are using the 2nd memory position for an 'exit position', but we actually use the 2nd key fob and that screws up those settings. Plus I don't want to have to press another button every time I exit the car.

Re: Exit Seat stop position cannot be adjusted?

No, there isn't. And believe me when I say that many of us long-time Cadillac owners are not happy about the "cheapening" of the memory systems. I know I've been quite vocal about this both with my dealer service and with Cadillac corporate. The memory sytem in my current DTS is 2 steps backward compared to the ones in my prior DeVilles. Here's hoping that if enough of us keep complaining, Cadillac will restore the old memory system.

I agree. Some of my older cars had better memory systems then my '06 does.

Re: Exit Seat stop position cannot be adjusted?

The year of the model with the "memory" problem is not specified. I know from personal experience that the 2004 DTS had many more choices for the memory functions than the 2008. As described, there is no way to program the Exit position in the 2008 DTS. However, since I never drive the car (it actually belongs to my wife), we set up the Memory 2 position for Exit. Cadillac really dropped the ball when they "dumbed down" the memory system.

Yes....Cadillac really did "Dumb Down" the memory system. With my STS when I took out the key the seat and wheel would go to the exit position. When I got back in the car and inserted the key the wheel and seat would move to my set driving position.

With my new 08 DTS when I remove the key the seat moves all the way back and the wheel moves up.When I get back in nothing happens unless I push a button, and if I lock the car and then unlock it with the remote fob the wheel and seat move to my set position which forces me to push the door button to get in.What the hell was Cadillac thinking when they made this change......?and....has anyone gotten an answer from Cadillac about this...?

Re: Exit Seat stop position cannot be adjusted?

Somewhere along the line they apparently issued a mandatae that there must be change in the computer interface. My 2003 was very straightforward and of course the exit position feature worked.

My 2006 DTS computer interface is just not all that obvious and is user hostile. Again, apparently someone took a new engineer and told him/her to completely disregard what was and change it just so they could have bragging rights for the new interface.
