Sound system in the lux 3 package

Ok, I must be spoiled, we just came out of a 05 STS lease and the car had the premium Bose system in it ( 12 speaker ) we bought the lux package 3 DTS because it had the premium radio in it. I really thought it would sound the same ( Or really close to it ) in the DTS, but the sound seems to come more from the front than the back ( I did have the dealer even try to play with it in hopes that he could fix it ). The DTS has a large amp on the top of the back deck, but no sound comes out, they said it was just a amp. Any ideas on how to improve the settings? I use the surround sound button, and have played witht he other settings but its still lacking compared to the STS.

The large amp in the back is a sub-woofer. YOU NEED TO GO TO MENU AND THEN CUSTOMIZE THE SOUND SETTINGS. It is not as good as the 99STS we had before but my DTS is better than most factory systems. If this doesn't work you need to have the radio looked at by a dealer with a decent sound guy. PS the surround 5.1 system only works on CD's and XM radio. Doug-j

I am a little disappointed with the BOSE sound system in my 2006 DTS also.

It does not usually have enough bass, and when it is playing a song with a lot of bass... it is kinda muffled and distorted. I have played with all the settings for almost two years, and still wish ir was a little better.

My 2002 Ford Taurus with the MACH sound system, sounds as good or better sometimes than the Cadillac BOSE system. Bass on it is clear and defined.

i leave mine (08 lux 3) on "normal" with the bass increased +3 past neutral. "Rear" can hit lower bass but the audio seems to come from the back too much then..

As i have stated in other posts i have an 07 DTS luxury 3 with every option except sunroof and navigation. Before this i had a 99 STS with the great radio and 2 cd players. The new DTS is a bit of a let down with the sound system but the car is LOADED with options so it is alright.
