Re: bad tires on new 2007 DTS

I have Bridgestone Turanza EL400's on my 2006. Have never noticed any unusual vibration in them. WHat air pressure are you running. If they are a little low, they may be flatspotting when sitting over night. That would cause a little vibration till you drive a little.

Re: bad tires on new 2007 DTS

You may want to try, if you have not do so already, getting your tires Road Forced balanced, this is a Hunter machine that balances your tires the best they can be. Had a vibration when cold in one of my 22's Escalade wheels, after many tries at different tire shops I went to a shop with a brand new Road Force machine, the problem was gone.

Re: bad tires on new 2007 DTS

Sounds like flat spotting. Check inflation, get road force balanced, then look into having the tires replaced.

Exactly. The Continental tires are absolute crap. I'd look into replacing them immediately. If you've less than 500 miles on your car, your dealer should trade them out and give you full price credit on the Continentals toward the purchase of a different set of tires. Also, if you decide to keep them, be warned that the more miles these Continentals acrrue, the louder they become. My car only has 14,XXX miles, and even on new pavement, the roar is almost unbeareable. I drove on an older stretch of road last week, and the tire noise was so loud that I almost couldn't hear myself think.

Thankfully my 2 years is almost up, December can't come soon enough.

Re: bad tires on new 2007 DTS

I have 2 07 DTS's both have the Continental tires one has 30k on the the other 10k No problems & so far they have been trouble free. And ride good. I did have them road force balanced at the dealer. After that they are OK

Re: bad tires on new 2007 DTS

I have 11,000 miles on an 06 DTS and these Continentals are fairly quiet and smooth. Maybe the insulation in the glass and body is hiding road noise. Frankly can't tell the difference from the Michelins that I have driven since 1974. This is my first Cadillac but I had three Park Aves and two Old's 98s previous with Michelins and I can't complain about the Continentals on this car.

For what it's worth, GM bulletin's instruct us to drive a vehicle 10 miles prior to judging vibration or alignment issues to make sure the tires are warmed up.

I BOUGHT NEW 2006 DTS WITH CONTINENTAL TIRES .. IT HAS VIBRATED FOR 6000 MILES , 2 DEALERS. 4 ROAD FORCE BALANCES , 2 TIRES REPLACED ,
NO HELP FROM CADILLAC. VIBRATION IS WORSE AFTER CAR SITS, AND NOW IN COLD WEATHER. SOMETIMES FEELS LIKE SHIMMY, SOMETIMES AS IF SUSPENSION IS WORN OUT, SOME TIMES LIKE TIRE SQUIRM. I CAN FEEL VIBRATION AT 30 MPH. WORSE AT 60. CAN ANY ONE GIVE ME A CLUE?

Re: bad tires on new 2007 DTS

33,000 miles on my 06DTS Crapinentals aren't noisy. Rotate every 8K miles. Have 7/32 left on 2 and 6/32 left on 2. Dealer said he'd give me 4 new ones mounted and balanced for $360 out the door. Probably will do it.

Re: bad tires on new 2007 DTS

There is a reason why Cadillac doesn't put Continentals on DTS's anymore, they switched to Michilins.

Re: bad tires on new 2007 DTS

Absolutely change the tires and have the Michelins installed. In adition to that, my dealer introduced me to a product called "Purigen". This is nitrogen instead of air.It is much better for your tires-it won't condensate like air does, and you will not get the pockets, or flat spots you are expierencing.Best thing we ever did!

Re: bad tires on new 2007 DTS

I just called Goodyear and complained about my RS-As being crappy in wet weather. They told me to go to a tire dealer for exam. I selected Disc Tire. Goodyear then gave me $50 credit on each tire (after 27,000 miles). When I first talked with Goodyear rep, I did not think they would do anything as I had prev heard that Goodyear would not give up a penny. I was really surprised to see them come thru. I bought the Eagle F1s, all season.
