Big problem or small problem?????

Aftenoon ladies and gents,

I was wondering did anybody have any info on why my service engine light comes on and off almost everyday. It will come on for a while and then go off on it's own..I used alot of the info i get from past disscussions and i dont really see any body who had the same problem....

When i pull my own codes i see that it says

PCM-P0410-sECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM....

PCM- P0443-EVAP PURGE SOLENOID VALVE 1 CONTROL CIRCUIT...

SOME DAYS THESE CODES ARE CURRENT AND SOME DAYS THEY ARE HISTORY????
Does anybody have a clue of whats going on with my 2001 DTS with only 27,000 miles on it??
All help is greatly appreciated

Obviously one or both of those two systems is failing intermittently. A FSM would have the diagnostic procedure to check them out.

FSM =
Factory Service Manual. Check Ebay or http://wwww.helminc.com for a new one.

There is a TSB out on the Secondary Air Injection System or AIR pump. The pump in certain circumstances is able to ingest water and short out the pump. There is a replacement part number and a rerouting kit for the intake. The unit is located behind the left inner fender.

Also note that if you've had the engine cover off recently it's very very easy to knock the vacuum line off the AIR solenoid while replacing the cover.
