Comet also works since it has bleach in it.

Also, Walmart will carry the stuff, and any auto parts place should have it. I use it about 1 - 2 times a week on my 1.3" wide whites on my '91 Brougham. Works really well!

Here's one...my '91 Fleetwood coupe. Bought it from a couple in Belleair, Florida a couple months ago. Only 39,950 miles on the clock at the time. Other than a few paint issues the car is mint. Had to part with my '85 Seville, which now resides in Boston. Some photos attached ... |

The clearcoat on the trunk is deteriorated and the top rubber strip on the rear bumper is no longer white. Not very noticeable, but one day I'll get it into the body shop and fix the problem. |

This is my first Cadillac. It's a '91 Fleetwood with the 4.9. I bought it in Jan '05 with 142,000 miles and a bad trans for $900. I had the trans rebuilt for $2000, I've put a new distributor, coil and radiator in it. I had the the original top redone in white. I got the wheels off ebay, they were off a '96 Deville.
I have put new rear springs, struts and brakes. The paint is starting to fade but still looks good and the front seats need to be redone.
I've got 158,000 miles now and just as strong as ever.
I love almost all Cadillacs. My '99 ETC is my daily driver but my Fleetwood is a SWEET RIDE.

Very nice contrast- makes the red exterior seem a bit brighter. I like that look! I've always loved the look of the skirts on the rear wheels on Fleetwoods. That's one of the big things that attracted me to my Sixty Special. They just seem to finish off the body lines so nicely. I'll second that- you're Fleetwood is a sweet ride! Quote:

What's the red toggle switch next to the stereo? Is that your nitrous injection switch, ejector seat, or ???
Just curious.... Nice car, btw, but if it were mine, I'd add some whitewalls. That's a style thing for me.

At the best of times, they are P.I.T.A to keep clean. And in particular at this time of year, when the roads are muddy and slushy, and the weather is too cold to wash the car by hand, they are darn near impossible to keep clean. Worse, even if the rest of the car is spotlessly clean, dirty whitewalls ruin the effect. -Patrick |

If you don't have easy access to a warm garage bay, the dirt accumulates fast this time of year.

I have always hated white walls, but now that i own an old(er) skool caddy i have grown to like them on certain cars (like mine...) I have a questoin about the upholstry. Yesterday when i went to publix, i parked next to a 1990 (or 89) deville. It has the same lights but the older grill as mine (93). I noticed the seats had the cadillac crest embroidered into them. My seats dont have that. Was that an option, or was it standard and then removed in 1991? |

The requirement to include that as part of either the 1990 or 91 model year (and I'm thinking it might have actually been 1990), essentially drove a lot of decisions about using that model year to introduce a lot of design changes to the interiors of vehicle models. The Deville platform was no different. So, my guess is that what happened was that in either 1990 or 1991, Cadillac simply phased in some new interior designs, and phased out the late 80's designs, because the changes being required by the Feds at the time made introducing those changes worthwhile. -Patrick | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
