98 deville cranks will not start reads theft system problems car may not restart

started car with remote. got in car hit the brake car shut off.now the car cranks but will not start. has fire and good fuel pressure.car starts for a seccond or two with starting fluid.dash reads theft system problems car may not restart. need help!!!!!

Did it happen after you had the remote start put in? Ask the guy who installed the remote starter, maybe it's interfering with the factory security/computer system.

The theft system is what's keeping ur engine from starting, but I'm not even novice on that subject...

i had a prob like this 1'ce.....but it was dirt on the key and in the ignition...
try cleaning the tumblers and the key with eather.....hope its sometin that eazy 4 ya gl

Likely the resister pellet in the key has been bypassed to allow an aftermarket starter to be installled. Otherwise, the system would not even crank unless VATS was bypassed.

You're going to have a hard time getting an answer here I suspect because no one knows how the aftermarket starter was installed and how the VATS was bypassed to get the aftermarket starter to work.....

As soon as you put the aftermarket electronics on the car all bets are off, unfortunately....

i took the remote starter off the car ,still will not start.have codes of B2719 and B2750

try reprogramming, put key in , turn to on position for ten minutes,turn off leaving key in switch for 5 seconds, turn on for another 10 minutes, off for 5 sec, on again for ten minutes and it should start

try that two or three times. didn't work.
