So, on my adventures today I got the code PC0300 which is for a cylinder misfire. Not knowing what cylinder it was I threw spark plugs and wires at it since they were at almost 100k miles and almost dead looking.
Well, that did help quite a bit but not all the way.
So, following that I hooked up my timing light to each wire and found that wires 2 and 5 had a bad pattern to them. Instead of a constant flash it was erratic and all over the place. Which lead me to the problem of the 2 and 5 coil being bad.
So I did some research and this is where I am at.
I found the it could either be the coil or the ICM, I believe thats the name, but I am not sure which one it is. Can I saw my bad coil with the good coil next to it and see if the problem is in that specific coil? I think that if it is in the coil then it would obviously follow it around and if it is the ICM then it would matter where I put the coil, because the problem would still be in the same spot, correct?
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks, Stephen
