I have a 94 cadillac concours and i am getting codes P039 & P036. I looked to see what the codes where and one of them was the egr valve pintle position out of range. I am wondering if I just clean it if it will help? The another code is Torque Coverter Clutch/Viscous Converter Clutch Engagement Problem. Is that the Torque Converter gone bad or is a sensor problem?
Yes, cleaning the EGR valve will likely help. Go to the tech tips section. There is a "How To" posted there. That section is for "Tips" not questions.
Your TCC problem is likely a solenoid failed and not locking up the torque converter above 41 MPH. Not a huge problem. You'll just have a little slippage and RPMs will be a tad higher at any given speed so MPG will drop by a MPG or so. Repair is expensive as the trans has to come out I believe.
I Am Still Getting 20mph On The Hwy And About 19 In The City So I Guess It Is Not A Big Deal At This Time. Thanks For Your Input!!
