window regulator installation

Remove this ad
hello, i had posted a few days ago about my window messing up, well the popular opinion is that the window regulator is messed up. a indepentent mechanic/part time dealer tech quoted me 360 for the job and said dealer rates would be more like $580-600.

i found the part on ebay for $180 buy it now, ebay store, 100 percent positive feedback, the best part is, theyre located in north carolina, my state, they say i can have the part by thursday

i have the helms i think or haynes one of the repair manuals, medium automotive skills and a big kobalt tool box

how straight forward is this installation and wat problems may arise

Re: window regulator installation

I've done two of my regulators within the past month. I found a guy on ebay, that I sent my bad one to him he sent me a rebuilt one for $85. It's very easy install. I was at the dealership the other day, and I was talking to a guy that had a '01 or '02 at the dealership for that. It cost him around 180 for them to look at it, or it woulda been over 500 to fix. I told him how easy it was to fix, but it was a little too late. Good luck with your install.

Re: window regulator installation

i have a similar problem with my 03 cts. I have already pulled the door apart to figure out what the problem was. The cables in the pully system came off and kinked so i can't put the pully back together. My questions are "is the window regulator the metal track and pulley system?, and if so does the regulator include the motor that turns the pully system?"

The window regulator and the pulleys and cables are one in the same on a Deville... Since your working on a CTS I believe you've posted on the wrong board. Try the 2003-2007 CTS Forum.
