Failed or Corroded Gasket and Oil Leak on 96 Deville

I am the owner of a 96 Deville.

In the last few months, oil has been steadily leaking from my car.

At first my mechanic thought the oil pan just needed changing. Later, however, he said the front gasket would have to be replaced.

Does anyone know what tool or tools are required to fix the 96 Deville's front seal and timing chain cover? Also, what steps does my mechanic need to take to make these repairs?

I want to avoid, if at all possible, taking my car to the local dealer here because they charge such astronomical rates.

I would appreciate any suggestions or help.

The ngine needs to be pulled to access the oil pan and the case half seal. That involves dropping the cradle.The only place I know of pics is here:
