    Terrible Day

took the DeVille out today to run errands. There were no DTC's. It started first thing. All the systems worked. All the windows worked. No oil or coolant leaks. HVAC working full blast (it was 99 here today), trunk doesn't leak any more, open stretch of road to do WOT. Down side-we live in the sticks so cleaning bugs off the grill, bumper and mirrors is a daily task. Oh, the horror of having a car that works. 102K miles.

the car was in good pretty fair shape when I bought it. One of the reasons it's so much better now is that I took the advice and tech tips on this forum and got busy turning wrenches in the garage.

I'm with you, my 05 dhs has exceeded expectations since I got it like 10 weeks/ 1200 miles ago. I have less than 65k miles right now, and so far not a single problem. Knock on wood. I refused to believe buying one of these cars that has been well taken care of could be a bad idea for 20% or less of original value 10 years later. Having owned my 89 deville for about 6 years now I was aware parts and maintenance on any cadillac could add up to a chunk of change(replaced my og 4.5 with a new machine shop 4.5 pro installed with warranty). Just nice when you can get full enjoyment of your vehicle at it's full potential...enjoy it while it lasts! I will as well...

do I spend a lot of time on keeping it in this shape? Yes. Is it fun? Yes. Do I get a smile on my face every time I turn the key? YES! Is it more interesting and complicated than the two Lincolns I had? Absolutely. Will I go back to a Lincoln? No.

My brother in law is a lincoln man, and I rub this car in his face every time I get the chance. He and my sister are sharing an old explorer right now so it just killls him, haha. Cant wait until he gets a beat up lincoln mark 8 and that airbag suspension has problems and half your car is leanin one way, lol.

rodnok, I was just complaining to the wife last week that I wish the seats in my F150 were as comfy as the Cadillac; and the Caddy interior still smells like leather!
