    C1254 Abnormal Shutdown

Anybody know what causes the "C1254 abnormal shutdown detected" I assume that it means the EBCM is shutting down as soon as the self check detects something wrong, when the ign switch is turned on.

Also think that causes the C1298 just because with EBCM disabled (off) the PCM can not get a health check message and it sets the C1298 PCM serial data link malfunction.

Anybody think I am on the right track and what does EBCM see that shuts itself down? Voltage is 12.2 at ebcm connector, ground seems good at 2.8 ohms.

Of course all this causes the break, ABS and TC lights to go on when you turn key on and then when started the ABS and TC lights go off and back on.

    Help much appreciated.

OK, think it is a checksum error caused by a EBCM memory error or loss to data due to maybe loss of power or ground. Can anyone confirm I m not going astray. Thanks.

Does anyone think that having the EBCM programmed can fix this type of problem or what programming really does to the EBCM? Thanks.

About the deepest anyone here gets into the EBCM is "clean the connector". Otherwise, the thing is a mysterious box that costs a fortune.

See if you can get to (Google ?) Module Masters - they rebuild the things. http://modulemaster.com/rebuilds/

I will send it out to be chromed and send to you for $29.99 and plus shipping. Thanks. Will post my results.
Did find out today that the power at the ABS 10AMP fuse under back seat gets +\- 12 volts when you turn key on but when you power up started volts drop off to nothing for 1-2 seconds then it returns. Thinking that maybe my issue. Just not sure what cause is yet.
