It should be obvious if you can see the outer steel lip of the bushing.

    First of all
    Thanks for responding
Secondly, If I could see the outer steel lip of the bushing
I wouldn't be asking the question
The hyperlink you sent me is appreciated but of no help
I'll go back to it again in case I missed something

Re: Knuckle bushing 95 Deville 4.9L

For anyone who wants to know
The top rear knuckle bushing pushes out toward the front of the vehicle (95 deville) both sides
The bottom rear knuckle bushing pushes out toward the rear of the vehicle, both sides
I was lucky enough to find a top rear bushing that would not push out either way
Actually damaged the removal tool trying to force it
After a couple of hours, I finally firgured out the problem
My brand new bushing removal tool would not fit onto the knuckle bushing casting opening
Why, because the knuckle bushing casting had a flaw in it when manufactured
The opening had a steel burr at the bottom that would not allow the pushing tool to enter the hole
The tool is really nothing more that a socket, so I took used a slightly smaller socket from my tool box and the bushing popped out without a problem
Unbelieveable, a simple job turned into an all day marathon because of a faulty part
