If the coolant isn't draining from the surge tank, something's clogged. I assume other stop leak products have been dumped in?

Not only will Blue Devil not work (the gaskets aren't the issue, it's pulled head bolt hole threads, the breach is ever moving and widening), but it will create more clogs, and make repair nearly impossible.

How did you diagnose the HG problem?

By the way, you CAN'T get all the coolant out unless you hold the car upside down and shake it.

Return the snake oil and put the money towards a proper repair or another car. Anything else is a waste of time, effort and money.

................ and perform immoral acts upon the heater circuit hoses using a wetordry shop vac.

There are no block side drain petcocks, so a couple of quarts remains in the block, thus the "upside down" advice.

Thanks submariner, I found a thread about how to get at it. It looks like I have to remove the upper hose. Take out the pass side fan loosen the drivers side fan and slide it over to access. Does that sound right?
