Bass, We have an on/off relay that is 4 pin and a second relay that is 5 pin that controls low or high. He'll have to wire in another relay I believe.

    Re: High 4 headlight kit?

I had considered this mod when JimD did it, but I could duplicate it by holding the high beam lever in when activating the high beams. All 4 are on until you release the lever. I found no real benefit and lost interest.

Hat off to Bass...works like a dream but now I have to wait until dark to test it out. I live rural so I hope to see some improvement on totally unlit roads.

Great junk drawer project. I used a generic 1N400x diode that I had from pc board rape n' pillage session...I can't throw anything away. Pretty much any rectfier diode will work. Thanks for the research work.

Don't get your hopes up. All you'll see is the road lit a bit more right in front of the car (what you would normally have lit with the low beams. It'll make no improvement in your long range vision. That is exactly why I scrapped the idea, but you be the judge.

I hear ya' Ranger. The mod was free, reversible in seconds and no factory wiring was harmed in the execution of this experiment...gotta' try it just to see.

    Re: High 4 headlight kit?

You'll get lot better light down the road with a high beam set of PIAA Intense Whites. I live near rural farm country, occasionally do some nighttime crazies, and have absolutely no need for the low beam/fog light bling during slow, sedate twisty runs.

EDIT: No light pattern on earth will stop stupid deer ......................

It may be time for a bulb upgrade Sub. My eyes seem to like a lot more light than they used to, imagine that! I'll try any different setup that gives me more. starting with the free ones

Copy on the deer...I've already hit one but it was with my F150. Not a mark on the truck save for a clean spot on the bumper where it hit him on the ass. The deer shook it off after a 30ft. tumble and ran off into the woods...hardy beasts!

Yeah I agree, nothing replaces a good pair of eyes, err umm I mean bulbs, a good pair of bulbs.

But a lot of people criticized hyper whites(or some form of them), but now tons of people run them. Even the old guys! The closer too daylight wavelength of light lets you see better, or rather is easier for your eyes to adjust too.

I'm so used to the white light from my headlights when I get in a car with the old yellow lights it's almost repulsive! Lol.

I'm no doctor of optometry, but having just lived through Karen's incredibly wonderful, successful cataract and glaucoma eye surgery, you might want to invest some bucks into an in-depth eye checkup.

PIAA Intense Whites run at 4100K color temperature. Stock GM incandescent bulbs are 3100K - 25% dimmer.

I have Never even been flashed with my low beams on, the light angle is pretty low, when i have my low beams on, if my camera is good enough i will see if i can show you the light difference on a dark road. i dont roam around with my brights on all day like half the people around here. My Girlfriend drove my car and i passed her, wasnt bad at all. heck these new Camaro's have more annoying lights and there projector lenses.
