As crazy as this may seem, I'm a previous Ford employee:suspense: and jumped on a 2014 Lincoln Mkz back in february. I have since found out I'm not a fan of a new car payment at 21 nor am I of turbo 4 cylinders. :rant2: Haha. I've decided to find a cash car and have always found the lines of the Deville a classic. I found an 04 dts with 61,500 miles. 2 owner car, he bought it in 08 with 3600 miles. I plan to go and check it on Monday. His asking price is $7900.

Any thoughts? Problem areas? Good price?

It's pewter on tan with sunroof.

*PLEASE, PATIENCE IN ADVANCE.. IM DOING THIS OFF MY CELL PHONE AND THE SITE KEEPS CRASHING TO DO A THOROUGH SEARCH*:bouncy:

$7900 is TOP DOLLAR for that car -
but if PERFECT - I think it is worth it - IF you want a DTS model Deville -

a couple very expensive repairs to watch out for -

oil leaks - $2500 for an engine reseal -

a fairly common trans related problem -
worn seals deep in the trans -
causes a P0741 code - and CHECK ENGINE light -

the DTS has the MUCH "stiffer" - VERY EXPENSIVE-
F45 - ACTIVE - ELECTRONIC suspension system -

replacement shocks and struts are strictly ACDelco parts -
struts - around $500 - each -
shocks around $525 each -

check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes -

if you don't know how - go here and read the ENTIRE post -

if you have any codes - post them here -

Thanks for the quick response. It looks very clean. He says he has all dealer records. I was really hoping to be around the $7000 mark but don't want to insult him.

I don't believe the Deville Touring Sedan (the real DTS) came with MRC - but look at the RPO (Regular Production Option) sticker under the spare tire cover - MRC will have a F55 code; CVRSS (Constantly Variable Road Sensing Suspension) will be F45.

Google "delphi lord magnetorheological suspension system".
