Can't believe there are so many young people in this forum. I think that's great. My friends think that I am too young to drive the car I have, but obviously not.... and I love it... Really excited about the '06 DTS... long live the full size caddy. |

I'm 24 and this is my first Cadillac. It's a '68 Cadillac Calais Coupe with only 55.500 miles. It looks and runs like new!
It is not that easy to own a car like this here in Germany because the gas is very expensive (1,43 $ per LITER!!!!!)
But I got it and I have so much fun with the car
Ceep on Cruisin'!

A friend of mine's dad had a 78 Eldo 425 with factory T-tops. nice car!! We drove the Eldo or the 77 XS Toro. His dad had both. And a 79 98 Diesel with a 69 455 out of a Toro GT (400 hp). We never did get the Olds TriPower intake on. It ran good.... The SD455 sat in the garage. Broken crank.... Then got rebuilt and a bag of fertilizer spilled on it, so back to the rebuild.... http://www.442.com/oldsfaq/oftor.htm for info http://encyclopedia.classicoldsmobil...ronado/77.html for pictures http://encyclopedia.classicoldsmobil...ronado/78.html for pictures
Shame Cadillac never did the XSR idea. The ones that got sold were XS Toros, the XSR was retractable t-tops. It reduced head clearance, and the mechanism wasn't very good. This XSR you see did get saved from the crusher. http://www.toronado.net/FAQ/GenII/xsr.htm Quote: |

My friends say that I drive a "granny car". But I'm safer than they are in their tiny little cars - hit me and you have to go through 6 feet of trunk/back seat or engine (or whatever the length is). Their cars would fit in my trunk . . . . or glovebox {kidding}. |

Was looking at the Mercury Marauder, but the DeVille DTS just drove soooo much better.

I plan on buying another 90-94 LS400 in the near future when I find one with low miles, gonna do something like this... http://www.lextreme.com/tt.html
But i'm betting in 60 years i'll have had a good number of caddys under my belt. |

My first car was a little 1984 turbo subaru. I loved that thing...but it overheated one day so I left it on the side of an interstate. When we went back to get it, it was gone. Had to call the state patrol..turns out a lady in a Eldorado Biaritz was zooming down the road at 80mph weaving in and out of traffic + driving on the shoulder and hit my subaru - pushing it 100 yards. Both cars were totalled, but she didn't have a scratch on her. I think that's when I decided Cadillacs must be pretty safe cars.
My husband and I also "share" a 1972 Mercury XR7 Cougar. That thing is a lot of work |

The S430's are pretty much a low end S500, missing a few options. Like the power back seats (which some S500's even were missing).
It was still the 60-130 in 14 seconds that impressed me. And 125 to 60 fast enough I got very dizzy from negative G's... Quote: |
