47 here and my first Cadillac, a 98 Concours with only 34,000 miles from my mother. Can't believe there are so many young people in this forum. I think that's great. My friends think that I am too young to drive the car I have, but obviously not.... and I love it... Really excited about the '06 DTS... long live the full size caddy.

Re: Age of the deville owners in here?

i'm 36 and this is my second caddy, my first one was an 83 eldorado ritz, stainless steel half top moonroof oxblood inside and out with all the bells and whistles, i kept the car for two years and it even survived new york winters, my mother drover the car and it began to have one problem after another, the last one was the brake system, after over 300 dollars and countless hours of labor i decided to sell it and bought the 91 deville i have now, my next car is going to be another caddy for sure, i'm looking at 95 or later deville.

Hi there.

I'm 24 and this is my first Cadillac. It's a '68 Cadillac Calais Coupe with only 55.500 miles. It looks and runs like new!
It is not that easy to own a car like this here in Germany because the gas is very expensive (1,43 $ per LITER!!!!!)

But I got it and I have so much fun with the car

Ceep on Cruisin'!

Re: Age of the deville owners in here?

I know the feeling! A friend of mine's dad had a 78 Eldo 425 with factory T-tops. nice car!! We drove the Eldo or the 77 XS Toro. His dad had both. And a 79 98 Diesel with a 69 455 out of a Toro GT (400 hp). We never did get the Olds TriPower intake on. It ran good.... The SD455 sat in the garage. Broken crank.... Then got rebuilt and a bag of fertilizer spilled on it, so back to the rebuild....

Shame Cadillac never did the XSR idea. The ones that got sold were XS Toros, the XSR was retractable t-tops. It reduced head clearance, and the mechanism wasn't very good. This XSR you see did get saved from the crusher.

And I HAD a Deville, 1991 Model. I am 38, got mine at 36.

Re: Age of the deville owners in here?

38 . . . . bought the car when I was 34. My friends say that I drive a "granny car". But I'm safer than they are in their tiny little cars - hit me and you have to go through 6 feet of trunk/back seat or engine (or whatever the length is). Their cars would fit in my trunk . . . . or glovebox {kidding}.

Not to mention that your "granny car" will kick most, if not all of their asses.

Re: Age of the deville owners in here?

35, wanted something with a bigger trunk... Certainly got that, LOL.

Was looking at the Mercury Marauder, but the DeVille DTS just drove soooo much better.

Re: Age of the deville owners in here?

22, 3rd car, first was 1989 4 door civic, moved to a 1990 Lexus LS400 when i blew the civic motor, If the LS400 wasn't salvaged I would still be driving it, but wasn't worth the money that I was putting into it, So I traded it as a downpayment for my Caddy. I plan on buying another 90-94 LS400 in the near future when I find one with low miles, gonna do something like this... http://www.lextreme.com/tt.html

But i'm betting in 60 years i'll have had a good number of caddys under my belt.

Re: Age of the deville owners in here?

26, 2nd car. 1990 sedan deville.

My first car was a little 1984 turbo subaru. I loved that thing...but it overheated one day so I left it on the side of an interstate. When we went back to get it, it was gone. Had to call the state patrol..turns out a lady in a Eldorado Biaritz was zooming down the road at 80mph weaving in and out of traffic + driving on the shoulder and hit my subaru - pushing it 100 yards. Both cars were totalled, but she didn't have a scratch on her. I think that's when I decided Cadillacs must be pretty safe cars.

My husband and I also "share" a 1972 Mercury XR7 Cougar. That thing is a lot of work

Re: Age of the deville owners in here?

Being I have driven a 2000 S500 (#3xx prototype), and was pretty impressed, the 2001 DTS must be a pretty slick car!

The S430's are pretty much a low end S500, missing a few options. Like the power back seats (which some S500's even were missing).

It was still the 60-130 in 14 seconds that impressed me. And 125 to 60 fast enough I got very dizzy from negative G's...
