I was going to get a 97, but you do not have that "living room couch" ride to it and the seats are stiff. The 89-93 style is classic. |

I got my first Caddy in 1992 (a '91 Coupe DeVille), and my second in 2000, which I still have (a '99 DeVille.)
Love them both for safety, speed and comfort. But for play, which I still haven't outgrown, I have my '05 CTS-V ....... oh, my! Need I say more? |

I ring in on the upper end, turning 63 in less than six months, and this is my first Cad.I prefer sports cars, actually, but these old bones don't handle the lay-down-to-drive posture like they used to. I am a pastor of a church, and my wife said it was undiginfied for a pastor to have to crawl out of his car on his hands and knees before he could slowly stand up, so I stopped driving those little ones.Got a 2003 Xterra for room, which I LOVED, but got downsized at work and had to sell it to cut expenses.Have ridden a GL1500 for ten years, but lost it in gravel and shattered my ankle when the bike and both of us came down on it, so sold that too.I had the Cadillac of bikes, so spent the money on - what else? A Cadillac.Love it!I will not give a list of EVERY car I have ever owned, but here are the highlights:Oldest car was a 1949 Plymouth.Biggest previous car was a Buick Electra which we bought used over thirty years ago.Smallest previouos car was a Fiat 850 Spyder, which was a RIOT to drive.Hottest previous car was a 68 Olds 442.Longest owned previous car was a Nissan 240 SX which I drove for a quarter million miles without any major repairs. If I had my choice of any of them today what would I drive? This Cad!Terry |

I just bought a 2003 STS, my 3rd caddy.
1st was an '85 deville I bought from my 'rents. Drove it to 238k when the water pump seals suddenly gave way and the head gaskets blew in that 4.1L.
2nd is a 93 deville I also bought from the 'rents. Drove it to 298k until the tranny cooler inside the radiator broke. Just needs a new radiator and a coolant and tranny flush. 4.9L engine still going strong. Weird how when I drive it, people still want to drag me. I'm almost always in the lead right off the line, but the big 4.9L just runs out of breath at 40-45 MPH.
However, people want drag me in my STS, but it's pretty much hands-down no contest. It's kinda like swatting flies. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
