    Both Sway Bars Broken?

Today I was under my dad's 2004 Deville going to change the oil when I noticed the sway bars (?) on both axles were separated from the point under it. I'm not sure when it happened, but my dad's never mentioned anything about rough driving.

Those aren't sway bars, they're sway bar links. The thing they're attached to is the sway bar. Cheap and easy DIY project.

Thanks MC. I'll let my dad know and maybe tackle it in the coming weeks.

Yup - Stabilizer bar link - RockAuto, Moog, about $5.50 each. Raybestos professional - $11 apiece.

Look at the car's RPO sticker under the spare tire cover to double check the suspension type - FE1 (most probable) or FE3 (Sport Suspension/springs) - the stabilizer links may be slightly different for the two sway bar diameter sizes.

The car SHOULD have has a "mushy" front end feeling in turns.
