Red face Battery For '03 Deville Part Number 79-6YR (Part Discontinued?)

My 03' Base Model Deville is in need of a battery. However when I attempted to look up the OEM Battery, I was told the part was discontinued (Part #: 79-6YR). I was wondering what batteries some of you more experienced fellas have used on this car and liked the best. If you could, please leave me the Part # too, as this would greatly help me in locating it. Thank you guys in advanced.

Right now the STS (under rear seat battery) has an Exide 880 CCA Group 79 battery installed. Nary a problem.

    I recommend the Walmart MAXX 79 -

EXCELLENT quality - good price -
most retail locations if you DO have a problem -

Thank you guys. The only one the local part store had in stock for the deville was an AutoCraft 79. The AC Delco in the car wasn't holding a charge so I needed one ASAP. Hopefully this one will last a few years.

Just as long as it is a group 79 you'll be fine.

All made by one of very few companies, but not equally. If AutoZone commissions a high quality battery that's going to retail for $150, you get a high quality battery. But if they say "hey make us a battery that we can sell for $60"... not so much.

Yeah, this one was $163.00 and after all taxes and what not, ended up being a little over $200.00 dollars.

WOW! $200 could have just about gotten you an Optima.

What charges? A core charge? You get that back when you give them the old battery.
