    Tranny replacement question

I purchased a 1969 Coupe Deville earlier this week.
The tranny is kinda messed up, I have drive in all gears.
So it’s a little more than just a linkage problem.
Needs to be rebuild or replaced. If I can’t find a place to do the rebuild for less than the cost of a ‘new’ tranny I am thinking about doing the tranny replacement myself. I just want to know if I will be getting in over my head. It doesn’t sound like to much to me, but I have been known to not think of little things.

    Re: Tranny replacement question

The biggest ting to watch for is the bolt pattern. You probably already know that it is a TurboHydramatic 400 transmission, but when you get a different trans, make sure it is not a Chevy trans. The 472 has the Buick-Olds-Pontiac bolt pattern.
