    2000 DTS - ELC not raising vehicle

    I have just replaced the rear shocks and springs with yhe monroes and installed the resistors. The compressor kicks on at initial start up but will not level the vehicle or fill the shocks. Checked all sensors and relays and they are working. Only code is rss c0577 for front solenoid.. could this make the elc not work? also i just installed 22" rims. Any help would be great.

    ======================
    there should be at least a small amount of air pressure in the bladders at all times -

    the easiest way to test the system
    is to disconnect the bottom of the the height sensor rod -

    if you push the rod UP - this simulates a low rear end -
    and should signal the compressor to turn on - and inflate the bladders -

    when the bladders are inflated - move the rod about half way DOWN -
    that will simulate LEVEL height - and the compressor shuts off -

    the car should remain at this height forever -
    UNLESS there is a leak -

    move the rod DOWN - will simulate the rear too high -
    and signal the exhaust valve to open - and release air pressure -
    until the rear is once again level -

    ==================

    IF the rear sinks down when inflated - there is a leak -

    best way to check for leaks is a mixture of dishwashing soap and water -
    spray it on all the connections - watch for bubbles -

    if no visable leaks - it could be a faulty exhaust valve in the compressor -

    If you moved the sensor/switch up and down and there was power, but you got no response, the switch/sensor is bad.

    you need to be more clear about the power -

    there was power WHERE?

    if there was power to the compressor -
    but the compressor did NOT start -
    the compressor is the problem -

    you can buy a brand new GM compressor for around $235 -

    used for around $100 -

    $25 at the MAN'S MALL -

    ---------------------

    in the mean time -
    the rear shocks NEED a small amoun t of air pressure - 14PSI - minimum -

    if it's going to take any length of time to fix - or decide to fix -
    you should install the Monroe AK29 Manual Fill Kit - around $12 -
