| | Cadillac Owners Member | | | | | Night Vision Camera Seems like GM built a bit of a lemon part with so many requests for replacement cameras due to broken glass. Surely they could have used a laminated glass and designed it to be replaced.
My lens cracked from a stone and GM advised the part was $2925 and you had to send back the old camera.
Does anyone have a 3 D schematic that shows how the glass assembly is put together? The rest of the camera works fine. I would like to try to repair it myself. Failing that any suggestions where you can find cheaper replacements? Been to E Bay

It was on a 2000 DTS, the car acutally had a little grill right in front of the camera lens to prevent any large pebbles or rocks from damaging the lens. |

| | Cadillac Owners Member | | | | Re: Night Vision Camera Since my lens is broken on my 2002 Deville Nightvision camera, could a person have a regular glass cut into a size that could be sealed in place in the opening of the camera? I noticed that the original lens is tinted or something. Would a clear "cut" lens work? |

There is a protective grill over the lens that wards off stones. I'm sure it's not fool proof but I don't see how anything large enough to do damage can even get to the lens.
They stopped making them because people weren't buying the option.
