    Hydraulic Mount

    Greetings,

I'm trying to see what people are using for the hydraulic mount on their Deville's, since appartently GM discontinued the mount.

This is on an 89 Sedan Deville.

I replaced this mount a year ago, with an Anchor mount, and it failed in about 4 months. Any thoughts? I had an order cancelled through GM Parts Direct today for this order, even though it was available on their website and the order went through (originally).

    This is the mount: http://www.amazon.com/Anchor-2554-Fr...1&s=automotive

    It's #1 in this diagram:

    Here's the email:
Thank you for ordering from GM Parts Direct .

We regret to inform you that the following item is currently unavailable:

    Part Number: 22188804
Part Description: engine, engine / transaxle, engine & trans mounting, motor mount GAS ENGINE, hydro mount Right
    Reason: Discontinued

Thanks for your help! I am stumped!

    Re: Hydraulic Mount

Anyone know when they discontinued these and what the best way-ahead is? Should I try a DEA mount?

    Re: Hydraulic Mount

Thanks bass! Since I've already "torn" an anchor mount fairly quickly, what would you suggest? Is it possible the one I bought was a poorly constructed and had a lower fail point for the rubber?

    Re: Hydraulic Mount

If it failed that quick would almost have to be a bad one, unless another mount was completely torn loose putting all the pressure on that one. Does your year have torque struts?

    Re: Hydraulic Mount

All the other mounts were changed at the same time, and are still good. I thought about that, but definitely not the case here (good idea though). What are torque struts?

Edit: No, it doesn't have torque struts, just the hydraulic mount up front for the transverse fwd models I believe.

    Re: Hydraulic Mount

I ended up buying the GM mount on ebay, as I already tried the anchor mount. We will see what happens this time!
