    Parking Brake Cable Replacement Issue

    Hello All,

I just replaced the front parking brake cable, intermediate parking brake cable, rear parking brake cables (both left and right) and both return springs. In addition, i replaced the equalizer. Alldata doesn't really make it clear as to how the whole thing interconnects at the equalizer and i knew it felt funny when it required alot of pressure to have the brakes hold. After a few cycles, the parking brakes don't hold any longer. I haven't gotten another chance to crawl under the car (spent all of saturday in 30 deg weather under there) but I hope one of the connectors hasn't come loose.

To make matters worse, I have to help the parking brake lever back up to make contact with the switch (which I also replaced). I lubricated the mechanism very generously with white lithium grease.

I'll attach the picture from alldata, it wasn't very much use to me as it shows everything disconnected.

Edit: To make it more clear. I have the right rear cable going into the 'coupler' like connector which connects to the connector coming out of the intermediate brake cable that is connected to the equalizer. The left rear brake cable connects to the other end of the equalizer.
