Water Pump, Shifter Assembly, Serpentine Belt, Coolant hoses, right front hub assembly, drivers seat heating element, dashboard had to be glued back down, crankshaft position sensors (both), battery, brake rotors, brake pads.
To be done:
Various bulbs in the dash, HVAC blows warm on the left side only, cool on the right side, steering position sensor, something in the security system.

My Intrigue got warm on the driver's side. Recharging got me through last summer, but the compressor was going bad, so I just traded in the car for a 04 Deville last week. Much smoother riding car.
I told myself I wasn't going to get another gray interior. Just did.
I told myself I wouldn't get a leather interior. Just did, but cooled seats!
I told myself I wouldn't get those seat-mounted seatbelts. Just did. Got clips to keep the belt from tightening on my collarbone.
I told myself I wouldn't get a car with worse mpg than the Intrigue, which averaged mid-20's. Just did, but only just.
60,000 miles, so I can't get the extended warranty. But the sale price was low, and hopefully low enough.
Some vibration in mid 60mph. Getting tires balanced. Like the Intrigue, it seems to prefer the 70's to the 60's.
Got 25 mpg driving car from Columbus Ohio to NC.
Thinking about adding chrome window pillars for $60. The black car needs a little more brightwork, and there's a scratch on the passenger door it would hide. Anyone tried them? |

I've been uncommonly busy and though I got notification of your reply, I just couldn't get to it until now.
My 1996 Eldo - my most favorite car of all time - did essentially the same things your car has had happen. I had the headgasket done once at something like 135000. It was warranted for 25000 and one year. It crapped out again at 162000, 10 months later. By that time, the cost of the repair was greater than the value of the car so I traded what was left of it for the 2000 Escalade I now own.
It is my opinion that Cadillac - and/or the dealership should have at least offered some share of the cost of the repair, not only the first time - but the second time on the same engine - because this was a well-known problem with the N* engine at the time. I have discontinued doing business with that dealer, and if I have any similar problem with another N* - I will discontinue driving Cadillacs.
I wasn't aware of that problem until it happened to me and I fixed it the first time. Had I known about that problem, I would have never owned a N* car.
Did you get a good warranty from the dealer/person that did your headgasket?
BTW, $5400 for all that work you had done was good. The headgasket alone for my Eldo was $4300.
Good luck with your car. I have now owned a couple Deville's and love my current DTS. |

I went through that some years ago with my 1996 Eldorado. It was a nighmare - all the deep notes were distorted. The dealer replaced individual speakers several times before I called Bose and got them involved. They wouldn't talk to me about it saying that Cadillac was their customer, but they did call the technician at the dealer, he explained the issue and they sent all new replacement speakers - a "set".
Good luck. Trust me when I tell you I understand how frustrating it can be to relly love the car but hate having to listen to poor quality sound. |

Just recently the brakes started pulsating and I took it
into the dealer for inspection.
All 4 rotors were warped and the front pads were worn.
Fortionately, my warranty covered the rotors (R&R),
and the dealor replaced the pads under their
Goodwill policy since it was a recent purchase. |

Did you ever get your seats on? My front seats won't heat in my '00 DHS either (ever since I got in last year used) It had 54K. |

Ok, now for my other problems. I've done the cam sensors, brakes, battery (turned out that wasn't the problem), new computer (covered under the 7 yr/70K warranty), starter, and now I need an instrument cluster (always going 0mph now). During the last year, it has died on me at least 15 times (finally resulting in a new starter and then it still died, and was fixed with a 5 cent washer). I've mentioned the front lack-of-heated seats. Oh, there have been times that I would be driving thru my neighborhood going 40-45mph and only want to go 25. There was nothing stuck, it just started picking up speed for no reason. It did this about 8 times and never did it again. I think that is about it. It's really too bad because it's such a comfortable car, gets great gas mileage and it looks nice. It's just left me with a not so good impression. |

I have an 01 Deville, and it's by far the worst of the 5 I've owned over the years. Car has 46K on the clock, and it's been very pampered since new, and so far: broken motor mount causing harsh 1-2 shifts, dash pad curled up, a/c sending hot air to pass side, blowing black foam out of vents, headlights blink off at night (couldn't fix after several tries), traction control works when it wants to, won't recognize ignition key occasionally, now broken drivers window regulator. Uncomfortable seats, onstar going away (analog), with no retrofit available. I will not own another Caddy, or gm for that matter; throwing in the towel on these. It seems that most things that happen to this car are not hard, coded type of problems, just "hiccups" that come and go. |

Today brings the "get tire pressure monitor serviced". I've had the car 1 week; it's got 23,700 miles on it. Any idea about this? Is this a module that I can replace myself rather than paying the dealer to do it?
Thanks in advance. |

Thanks in advance. | The car should still be under factory warranty if it's an 03. |
