Seriously! We just had nice weather here in WA state and I should've taken a picture (or two). I have a gold deville. I have an aftermarket grille on mine too so I will try and post.

I'm new so don't mind this question.

2005 DHS, Ming Blue, used to belong to U.S. Supreme Court, got it with 18,850 mi. on it.

Starter failed - in the Cadillac dealership service lane! Took a week to get a replacement in, so I drove their 07 DTS.

They broke a headlight assembly during repair.

Excellent car.

Question: Chevy dealer I got it from wants to "decarbonize" the engine (now has 36K on it). I think this is BS. Anyone got any comments?

2001 DTS Pearl White, with Nav and Night Vision. Bought new 9/00 with 72/100 GMPP. Now has 50,000 km. Garaged overnight 95% since new.

I got my money's worth out of the GMPP purchase, and only one additional problem has arisen since the GMPP ran out.

New + 11 months
-- P0335 Crank sensor failure made car stall. Replaced.
-- Left driver's vent won't stay open. Replaced all vent holders.

New + 13 months
-- Gas and temp gauges go to middle and stay there. Intermittent recurring; I had to wait until I was near the dealer to show the Service Manager and make him believe it was true. Replaced DIC.

New + 16 months
-- Battery drains with 2-3 days of disuse. Repaired loose terminal and repaired connection in fuse block.

New + 20 months
-- Nav screen sometimes freezes on Cadillac crest during boot. Replaced sensor.
-- No tire pressure indication since DIC replacement. Oops, we forgot to program it in.

New + 21 months
-- Service Engine Soon light. P1336. Teach the crank position how to do its job again.
-- When will map update be available? Car delivered with 08/00 maps, which are out of date. Will check.

New + 24 months
-- Nav screen hangs on Cadillac crest during startup. "No work until we see it."
-- Went to restaurant and key would not turn to lock position for removal. Drove home and garaged overnight. Car dead in morning. Tow truck jumped car to remove from garage and key came out. Check all ground straps. Tighten all straps. Remove body ground strap, clean paint off and put back.
-- Check Engine Light. Replace crank sensors and relearn.

New + 24 months (two days later)
-- Got home to garage and key would not come out. Replace ignition lock relay.

New + 24 months (one more day later)
-- Key won't come out of ignition. Road test to duplicate. After car gets hot, acted up. Check wiring. Check RIM. Checked solenoid. Found a times relay not making good connectino in rear fuse block. Replaced rear fuse block. Rechecked over a period of 3 days. (I made them give me a loaner car for one week for an out of town business trip. I'm sure glad this happened one day before that trip and not one day into that trip.)

New + 60 months
-- Radio comes on, goes off and won't come back until restarting engine. Replace radio module in trunk.
-- Service Security System message. Replace faulty PK3 module and reprogram.
-- Service Stability System message. Replace faulty steering speed sensor on steering column.
-- If car sits 3-4 days, battery goes dead. See history. See Line 5.
-- RF lumbar switch pushed into seat - 3rd time broken. Replaced RF lumbar switch and bracket. Sticking and drawing current when off.

New + 60 months (two weeks later)
-- Radio replaced two weeks ago. Since then happened again twice. Nav remains alive, but no soft key can turn radio back on. Must restart car. Replaced radio amp.

New + 61 months
-- Nav head failure. Replace Nav head.

New + 61 months (same visit, different ticket)
-- Car would not start in shop. Battery weak. Replaced battery. (They wanted to charge me for the battery, but I reminded Cadillac Central of all of the serious electrical problems caused by warranty malfunctions that probably caused the battery to weaken and they agreed to comp the battery.)

New + 63 months
-- Driver's heated seat does not get warm. Replaced heating element.

New + 64 months
-- Windshield washer inop. Replaced pump.

New + 67 months
-- Excessive vibration from heater blower. Replaced blower motor assembly.

As a footnote, I never did get my new maps. Despite repeated inquiries with the Parts Department, no newer maps were ever produced. It seems that GM only put this Nav package into late 2000 and 2001 cars and then switched to a different supplier for production and support of the new Nav package introduced for MY 2002. The old company couldn't be bothered supporting the GM installed base after that. In the end, I moved overseas and shipped my car with me. I just replaced the useless US radio/nav combination with an aftermarket one, and am very happy.

Since the GMPP ran out, my only complaint is that the vinyl is releasing from the right edge of the dash cover. I plan to attack this with Shoe Goo according to the thread here once the weather gets nicer.

Despite all of this, I am very happy with this car. It still looks almost new inside and out, and I expect to keep it for the foreseeable future.

Cams & regular gas software replaced within 2 months of delivery.
Seat heaters bad 4 times

My caddy needed some work for safety. Replaced the starter, replaced the left rear e-brake cable and one connector. Getting the engine mount replace this week and hopefully I can get the head gasket done on the May 15th weekend.

I need to have my engine mount replaced and my head gasket pretty soon.

What kind of caddy do you have and how much did they say it'll cost you to have those two things replaced?

My 2003 DeVille has been a good car though not as quick as my previous two Northstar Devilles. Only problems with this one so far have been a window crank failure(passenger side) and messed up alarm notices(tire pressure, coolant). I'm now seeing some antifreeze on top of the water pump housing so the problems may be starting. I've only got about 46000 miles on it.

01 Cadillac Deville. While driving, the digital dash went crazy reading various speeds of; 91,110,149,85; the fuel indicator didn't have a read but I just filled up. I continued home but before I could make it the Service Theft System displayed on the info display. When I made it home I turned the engine off and when I tried to restart it all the lights came on but the car would not start! The next day the battery was dead. I took it off and recharged it but still wouldn't start and it read Service Theft System. Under the hood, fuel was still being pumped into the engine. I pulled the fuel pump relay and it stopped feeding. Im not sure where to go from here and I don't want to go to the dealer. Can anyone help?

2000 Deville - This will be our LAST Cadillac. General Motors deserves what happens to them at this point in our families opinion.

It would be easier to ask what HAT NOT GONE WRONG!

It has the front end shimmy everyone else has.
Four window regulators known as the "pop and drop windows"
The traction control light has been on for two years. No problem actually exists
SES light stays on which means we can't get a state inspection. 2 catalytic converters later, goes on and off with the changes in the direction of the wind.
Hood will not latch properly...since new.
On our 4th center brake lite
Climate control actuator has failed AC only blows on floor.
We have had three radiators as the plastic tanks keep splitting.
Digital speedo goes wild, flashing random speeds. Sits at 150mph while sitting still but still running odometer up for 150. Hence a 90K mile cars shows 116,000K.
Over all fit and finish poor to very poor.
Platic wood trim (how cheap)
Dash pad warped
Three belt tensioners
The list goes on and on and on.

Our families history with Cadillac is officially over. 40 years and 5 Generations. I can't even get everything to work long enough to sell it. I've been screwed over by these people for the last time. I had to buy another car because this one is so unreliable.

2004 Deville, Black on Black, 48K miles no real problems

2004 Deville DTS Black with Tan interior 117,000kms (73125miles) only problem is the heated steering wheel button doesn't work all the time. Night vision camera has a busted lens resulting in a poor image, still discernible but kinda fuzzy. Does anybody know if there is an aftermarket grill for the DTS with night vision camera?
