The only problem I have had is the infamous "LOW COOLANT LEVEL" warning, the coolent is not low though, from what I have read on this website, the warning is caused by a bad sensor in the coolant reservoir. Driven on long 3 hours trips, I love the ride! seems to get 18 MPG in the city and 23 on the highway. |

My latest problem is a dead drivers side door panel. Nothing works except the seat warmer switches. Door locks and unlocks from the other door power lock switch. Started acting up on my birthday. Curse you cadillac gods |

1- Reseal needed. Getting seals, baffle, etc to do it.
2- Crossover gaskets seeping coolant (will change when I pull trans for reseal)
3- Both front heated seats inop.
That's about it. I just got it and I love it. It has high miles, but it looks and drives like a new car. I replaced my 95 STS with this. |

It's been a nightmare - but we finally found it. Metal on metal "clunking" noise front the front end when hitting small expansion cracks or other small road irregularities. Took it to one of my two favorite local shops [definitely NOT the Cadillac seller here] to see if they could dig it out. They decided it was likely a shock tower bushing. Replaced it. That wasn't it but I had to head to Tucson for several days so I just took it to Don Mackie [super dealership BTW].
They ran the noise down and decided it was more than one component in the front end and replaced most of it. On my way back to Clovis, it was great. Then arriving in Clovis, I came up the one street that lets you hear it all loud and clear if it's there - and sure enough, it still was.
My second favorite shop here is a paint and body shop. I picked up some scratches on my passenger door not long ago and took the car to them for the insurance estimate and mentioned the noise to their mechanic. He checked it out and decided it was probably a torsion bar bushing. He replaced it, headed down to MLK [the street mentioned] and sure enough, it was still there. He monkeyed with it a little and finally found it.
The noise was coming from the disk brake pad backing plate moving around in the caliper. He "glued it" down. We drove it around trying to make it come back up and it was solved.
I took the car back over to the other shop - they handle my brakes - and told them they needed to replace the pads or whatever they thought to fix this correctly. They swapped them out and the company that they got the system from picked up the tab. These brakes had just under 25K on them. Pretty good service from the brake company.
I'm church mouse quiet again and one happy camper.
The car now has just under 71K on it now and it's been flawless. Loving it. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
