    1999 deville hard shift lever

    Seem my shift lever is getting harder and harder to move from P to anything. Worse in very cold WX
    and one else have this problem and what did you do about it?
    Appreciate any info..

    Could be cable or MLPS(neutral safety switch).
    Pop the cable off at the trans & see if the shifter is free.
    If it is, MLPS.
    If not, cable.

    Before I installed the floor shift in mine it shifted rather hard. I removed the shifter, cleaned it up and lubed it with white lithium grease. It slides like a hot knife through butter.

    It's a common problem on the 94-99s, there have been several posts about it. It's the cable that gets gummed up with old grease and is only really affected by cold weather.
